Nicolò Varallo joins AURIGA

In June 2026, Nicolò Varallo joined the AURIGA project as a post-doctoral researcher on gas–liquid fluid dynamics and mass transfer, the first of the post-doctoral appointments foreseen by the project.

Nicolò Varallo.

His role sits at the junction of the two experimental scales of the project. At the bubble scale, he contributes to the image-based characterization of single bubbles and bubble swarms, with particular attention to hydrodynamics and mass-transfer mechanisms; at the reactor scale, he supports the large-diameter column experiments and the interpretation of optical-probe and wire-mesh measurements. His work focuses on connecting these local observations to the global hydrodynamics and mass-transfer behaviour of the column.

More information about Nicolò is available on his page in the Team section.
