The project’s first drag-coefficient measurements at the bubble scale. Single bubbles rising in a water–[BMIM][BF₄] mixture at 10 wt% are compared against pure water: the drag is systematically higher in the mixture and the bubbles deform more, showing lower aspect ratios, while existing drag correlations underestimate the measured values over the whole diameter range. The release mechanism is also shown to affect the terminal velocity and the trajectory well beyond detachment.
