Giorgio Besagni, Alberto Arici and Nicolò Varallo travelled to the Hamburg University of Technology to work with the Institute of Multiphase Flows, the partner group behind several of the project’s experimental activities.
The Hamburg collaboration runs through more than one strand of AURIGA. It is where Alberto Arici carried out the Taylor-bubble campaign that produced the liquid-side mass-transfer coefficients in aqueous ionic-liquid mixtures, and where the MRI-based gas holdup measurements behind the rectangular-column study were made. Both lines of work reached CHISA 2026 as joint contributions.
