Djamel Eddine Aissaoui, born in 1998, is a PhD student in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology at Politecnico di Milano. He graduated with top ranking in Energy Mechanical Engineering and completed his Master’s degree in 2021, focusing on the hydrodynamic and thermal analysis of complex fluid flow systems.
After completing his studies, he gained two years of professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer in industry, working on pump design optimization and technical solutions for fluid systems. In 2024, he joined the University of Bologna as a Research Fellow, conducting computational studies on electrospinning processes and investigating the behavior of polymeric jets. Since September 2025, he has been pursuing his PhD at the Department of Energy, carrying out experimental research on gas–liquid dynamics in bubble columns.
His research activities focus on fluid dynamics and multiphase flow systems, with particular emphasis on experimental investigations of swarms of bubbles and single-bubble dynamics in bubble columns. Within the AURIGA project, he contributes to experimental studies aimed at improving the understanding of multiphase fluid dynamics and supporting the development of advanced technologies for carbon dioxide capture and energy-efficient industrial processes.
Djamel is co-author of scientific publications in the fields of fluid dynamics and energy systems. His main research interest is multiphase flow hydrodynamics.
