Alberto Arici is a PhD student in Energy Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where he conducts research on CO₂ absorption in ionic liquid–water mixtures, with the aim of developing innovative solutions for carbon capture and storage.
He graduated in Nuclear Engineering in 2024, with a thesis focused on the development of sustainable hydrophilic ligands for the selective separation of americium in spent nuclear fuel reprocessing.
His academic path, characterized by a strong interest in chemistry applied to energy processes ranging from radiochemistry to fluid chemistry for greenhouse gas capture applications, has been further enriched by an international experience as visiting researcher at the Institute of Multiphase Flow at TUHH, Hamburg, Germany.
