Stefano Puricelli, PhD
Stefano Puricelli graduated in 2014 in Environmental and Land Planning Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. From 2015 to 2018, he worked in three companies in the fields of management and recycling of e-waste, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), and wastewater treatment.
In 2018, he collaborated with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, where he also earned a European Joint Doctorate in Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering (2021) on the use of innovative fuels and biofuels in passenger cars. In 2020, he visited the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) for six months, continuing his PhD project.
His subsequent post-doc research (2021–2026) was mainly devoted to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), ranging from sewage sludge management and WEEE recycling to ozone depletion and alternative passenger cars. In 2023, he visited the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (Germany) for four months, performing a life cycle sustainability assessment on passenger cars.
He has co-advised 3 master’s theses and, according to Scopus, co-authored 20 publications with an h-index of 8. He has spoken at 5 international conferences and seminars, and has taught and tutored several M.Sc. and B.Sc. courses at Politecnico di Milano, including “Air pollution and control engineering” and “Recycling and e-waste” (Erasmus+ INHABITAT). Since 2019, he has been a member of the Monitoring Committee of the anaerobic digestion plant of Albairate (MI), on behalf of the Municipality.
Since July 2026, he has been working at the Department of Energy, assessing the environmental impact of the CO₂ capture technology investigated in the AURIGA project.
